Over the past decade, the Sankalp Africa Summit has emerged as a pivotal event in impact investing and social entrepreneurship across Africa. Originating from the Sankalp initiative founded by Intellecap in India in 2009, the summit was extended to Africa in 2014, recognizing the unique opportunities and challenges on the continent. Annually, it gathers hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders from over 65 countries, facilitating critical partnerships and discussions that drive regional and global sustainable development. The convening not only underscores the importance of innovative solutions in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals but also highlights the transformative power of collaboration within the African ecosystem.

SANKALP AFRICA SUMMIT 2026

This year, under the theme “South–South Rising”, Sankalp positions Africa at the heart of the Global South’s collaboration story. The summit will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneur support organizations, and thought leaders from across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East to unlock new pathways for Africa’s entrepreneurs while deepening South–South cooperation.

Held on February 26–27 at the Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi, the 12th Sankalp Africa Summit convened 971 participants from 41 countries under the theme “Scaling Africa’s Entrepreneurs.” With 32 dynamic sessions spanning Climate, Agriculture, Circular Economy, Health, and Gender, the summit drove new funding commitments and forged strategic partnerships across sectors. Highlights included four real-time investments through the ASCEND Program, the debut of a dedicated Health Track, and headline announcements from AfDB, Villgro Africa, and We-Fi. As Africa’s leading platform for impact investing and entrepreneurship, Sankalp continues to fuel cross-border collaboration and scale solutions for the continent’s most urgent challenges.
