The Agriculture Insuretech Challenge attracted 105 applications from South and South East
Shortlisted enterprises presented in front of a prestigious Grand Jury in July 2019, which was followed by a day long convening of Asia’s leading agriculture, insurance and technology stakeholders. The convening, called Agriculture Insuretech Forum, was attended by 200+ diverse delegates, including investors, entrepreneurs, DFIs and corporations.
The event featured a series of intriguing discussions and later concluded with the announcement of the Agriculture Insuretech Innovation Challenge winners. The Awards recognized some of South and South-East Asia’s most promising entrepreneurs who are using technology to address challenges in providing agricultural insurance to farmers. The awards were given under three categories of an insurance product’s lifecycle – Data & Analytics, Sales and Distribution, and Premiums & Claims. The 9 winners, selected from 21 challenge finalists and 105 applicants, won cash awards worth $270,000.
