Dodji Honou

Executive Manager, WoeLab

Born in 1985 and holding a professional license from Ecole Libre Africaine des Technologies et des Sciences Appliquées (ELATSA), Dodji has developed considerable recognition in the implementation and management of IT parks and collaborative workspaces such as the FabLab. In 2012, he participated to the ArchiCamp organized by the African Association of Architecture which is a workshop of WoeLab, “First African Space of Technology Democracy” in the draft of African smart city “HubCité.” With Woelab, it will develop more programs for the dissemination of ICT in Togo as rapid prototyping or training, hacking of WoeAcademy, and projects in collaboration with other members of Woelab, such as the design of the first African 3D printer from electronic waste.

Recommended by the NGOs and Digital Arts Center Senegalese Ker Thiossane and nominated “Young Volunteer of the International Organization of la Francophonie,” Dodji has established in Dakar, Senegal the creation, training, and administration of the FabLab “Defkoakniep.”   Many experiences have allowed him to develop his skills in the exploration, dissemination, and sharing of free technologies. His involvement and leadership brought him to the role of Executive Manager of WoeLab in 2013 and now, at the forefront of the maker movement in Africa.
