National Social Entrepreneurship Forum (NSEF), one of Sankalp’s champion partners recently announced its flagship program; Authors of Change. NSEF is a youth led non-profit organization that aims to bridge the talent gap in the social enterprise sector through a number of initiatives including setting up centers of excellence at top institutes across the country; providing mentorship, connecting students to work with social enterprises and organizing conferences & competitions across the country. Since its inception in 2009, NSEF has undertaken social entrepreneurial activities in various universities & cities across India engaging & training thousands of youth and has supported numerous young social innovators & entrepreneurs.
The Authors for Change program seeks to engage students and provide them a challenging experience while working with social enterprises through an internship model.
Participants for this program are selected on the basis of past experience along with a clear career focus in the social enterprise sector. The program creates a network of young leaders who are provided access to mentors and experts from the sector. The internship encourages peer to peer learning through regular interactions and knowledge sharing platforms. Social enterprises benefit from easy access to skills of the brightest students coming from premier engineering, arts, and management schools of India. The program looks for social enterprises interested in seeking interns by offering short term entrepreneurial projects. In the past, authors of change participants have worked in premier enterprises run by Ashoka Fellows, Echoing Green Fellows and Ted Fellows.
NSEF is currently in the process of partnering with social enterprises that are looking to engage young talent. Interested organizations should contact February 6th, 2012:
